Marketplace integration

In short

Marketplace integration connects your store or management software to Amazon, eBay and other marketplaces: products, prices, stock and orders sync automatically, with no double work.

Marketplace integration is the automatic link between your online store or management software and marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay. Products, prices, stock and orders update themselves in both directions, so you sell on several channels while managing one catalogue and one inventory. PragaWeb builds these integrations for companies and retailers who already sell, or want to start selling, beyond their own website.

A marketplace is a platform where many sellers offer their products to the same audience: the customer buys on the marketplace and you ship. It is a powerful channel, but without integration it soon becomes a second job made of copy and paste.

Signs you need marketplace integration

  • You upload the same products several times, once per channel.
  • You sometimes sell an item that is out of stock because stock levels weren’t updated everywhere.
  • Amazon or eBay orders are retyped by hand into your management or invoicing software.
  • Changing a price or launching a promotion takes hours of edits across several dashboards.
  • You want to open a new marketplace but don’t have the time to run it.
  • You don’t know exactly how much you sell and earn on each channel.

What marketplace integration includes

  • Catalogue sync: titles, descriptions, photos, variants and attributes published from your main catalogue, adapted to each marketplace’s rules.
  • Real-time stock: when you sell an item on one channel, availability drops on all the others, reducing the risk of selling out-of-stock goods.
  • Prices per channel: different price lists for each marketplace, with rules for mark-ups, fees and promotions.
  • Order import: orders land in your store or management software with customer, shipping and payment details, ready to fulfil.
  • Shipping and tracking: the courier tracking number goes back to the marketplace automatically, as its rules require.
  • Invoices and documents: a link to e-invoicing so sales documents are issued without retyping.
  • Reports by channel: sales, returns and margins split by marketplace, so you can see where it pays to invest.

How we work

  1. Mapping: we analyse your catalogue, inventory, current channels and the ones you want to open, and decide which system is the single source of data.
  2. Choosing the solution: we assess whether to use an existing connector or build a custom integration, and present costs and timing in phases.
  3. Data preparation: we tidy product codes, EANs, categories and attributes, because every marketplace has its own requirements and incomplete data blocks listings.
  4. Connection and testing: we switch on sync for a small group of products, check orders, stock and shipping, then extend it to the whole catalogue.
  5. Monitoring: we watch for sync errors and anomalies and step in when marketplaces change their rules or interfaces.

Marketplaces and technology

We work with the main marketplaces, such as Amazon and eBay, and assess sector-specific marketplaces and shopping feeds such as Google Shopping case by case. Integrations run through official APIs, the interfaces marketplaces provide to exchange data with other software, or through ready-made connectors for PrestaShop, WooCommerce and Shopify when they are reliable and a good fit.

If the core problem is inventory shared across channels, we can add an inventory and order management system as the single source of truth. For more complex links with other business software, see our page on API integration.

Timing and costs: what they depend on

  • The number of marketplaces to connect and of products and variants to sync.
  • The quality of your starting data: complete codes, EANs, photos and attributes shorten the work considerably.
  • An existing connector or custom development.
  • The systems involved: just the store, or also management software, inventory and invoicing.
  • Special rules for prices, shipping or returns.

An integration using an existing connector usually takes a few weeks; a custom integration with management software and several marketplaces can take a few months, organised in phases. Also factor in the marketplaces’ own costs, such as selling fees and subscriptions, which depend on their terms.

Frequently asked questions

Which marketplaces can you connect?

We work with the main marketplaces, such as Amazon and eBay, and assess sector-specific marketplaces and Google Shopping case by case. Feasibility depends on each channel’s APIs and rules.

Do I need an online store to sell on marketplaces?

No. We can connect marketplaces directly to your management or inventory software. An online store does, however, give you a direct channel with full margins and your own customer data.

How do you avoid selling out-of-stock products?

We use a single source for stock and sync availability across all channels with every sale or inventory movement. We can also set a safety buffer for products with few units left.

Ready-made connector or custom integration?

A ready-made connector costs less and goes live sooner, but has limits on rules and customisation. A custom integration makes sense when you have specific management software, many products or particular pricing rules.

Do you also manage my marketplace seller account?

We handle the technical side: catalogue, sync, orders and shipping. Opening the account and complying with the marketplace’s terms remain your responsibility, but we help you prepare data and product listings.
