iOS and Android apps
In short
PragaWeb builds custom iOS and Android apps, native or cross-platform, and publishes them on the App Store and Google Play, for companies that want an app for customers or field staff.
iOS and Android app development means creating applications installed on iPhones, iPads and Android phones, downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. PragaWeb builds custom apps, native or cross-platform, for companies that want to offer a service to their customers or give technicians, sales agents and field staff a working tool connected to their business systems.
We handle the whole journey: screen design, development, connection to your management system or CRM, testing on real devices, publication on the stores and updates over time.
When you need an iOS and Android app
- You want customers to find you on the stores and keep your business on their phone.
- You need reliable push notifications, meaning messages that appear on the phone even when the app is closed.
- The app must make full use of the device: camera, background GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, barcode readers, sensors.
- Your staff often work without signal and need to save data to sync later.
- You need high performance, for example with maps, long lists or rich media.
If none of these is central, also consider a Progressive Web App: it installs from the browser, updates instantly and usually costs less.
What we build
- Customer apps: bookings, purchases, digital loyalty cards, personal area, order history and support.
- Field staff apps: job reports with photos and signatures, checklists, order taking, stock counts and deliveries with proof of delivery.
- Device features: camera and barcode scanning, location, push notifications, fingerprint or face login.
- Offline mode: data saved on the phone and synced automatically when the connection returns.
- Backend and admin panel: the backend is the server side that stores data and shares it between app and office; the web panel lets you manage content, users and requests.
- Integrations: connection to your business management system, CRM, online shop or payment providers through API integration.
- Store publication: app listings, screenshots, copy, privacy details and handling Apple and Google’s review process.
How we work
- Listening: in online calls we define who will use the app, in which situations and what it needs to achieve.
- Proposal: together we choose between native and cross-platform development, and you get clear timings and costs split into releasable phases.
- Prototype: we design the main screens and make them clickable, so you can try them before any code is written.
- Development in short releases: you receive test builds to install on your own phone through Apple and Google’s official testing channels.
- Testing and publication: we check the app on different models and operating system versions, then publish it on the stores under your company accounts.
- Evolution: updates for new iOS and Android versions, fixes, new features and support.
Native or cross-platform? Technical choices
A native app is written separately for each system, in Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android: it gives the most control over the device but means two codebases. A cross-platform app is written once with frameworks such as Flutter or React Native and runs on both systems: for most business apps it is the best balance of cost, time and quality. For notifications and supporting services we use widely adopted tools such as Firebase. We explain clearly why we recommend one route over the other.
Timings and costs: what they depend on
- Number of screens and features: an information app is far simpler than one with payments, chat or maps.
- Native or cross-platform: two native apps normally take more work than a single shared codebase.
- Backend and integrations: if the data already sits in a system with an API, there is less to do; building everything from scratch takes longer.
- Offline mode: data syncing needs careful design and testing.
- Running costs: store developer accounts, servers and maintenance to keep up with operating system updates.
A first publishable version generally takes from a few weeks to a few months. After the introductory call you receive a written estimate, phase by phase.
