The product is in development: this page sets out the planned features and how to request early access.
What a website accessibility check is for
An accessible website is one that everyone can use, including people with visual, motor, hearing or cognitive impairments who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard only or enlarged text. WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) are the international guidelines that explain how to achieve this; level AA is the one European rules generally refer to.
Since 28 June 2025 the European Accessibility Act, the EU legislation on the accessibility of products and services, has applied to many services offered by private companies, including e-commerce. Check Accessibile helps you understand where your site stands and where to start. Planned features include:
- Automated scanning of your key pages or the whole site.
- Issues ranked by severity, so you know what to fix first.
- Plain-language explanations: what is wrong, who it affects and how to fix it.
- Exportable report to share with whoever builds or manages the site.
- Regular monitoring to spot when new content introduces errors.
- Help with the accessibility statement, the document describing the site’s conformance status and how to report problems.
Who it is for
Check Accessibile is designed for online shop owners, companies with a corporate website, web agencies and freelancers who look after clients’ sites, and marketing or IT managers who need to account for compliance. You do not need to be a developer to read the results.
How it works
- Enter your site address and choose which pages to check.
- Run the scan: the tool checks the criteria that software can test, such as colour contrast, image alt text, form labels and heading order.
- Read the report: each issue shows severity, page, the element involved and how to fix it.
- Fix and re-check: run a new scan and compare the results with the previous one.
- Turn on monitoring: regular checks to keep the level you have reached.
What automated testing can and cannot do
We want to be clear: no automated tool, Check Accessibile included, can decide on its own that a site is accessible. Automated tests find only some of the issues. Others need a person: judging whether alt text really describes an image, whether the reading order makes sense, whether a form works well with a keyboard or a screen reader. That is why the report should go hand in hand with manual testing, which PragaWeb can carry out as part of its web accessibility service.
Why we are building it
Many testing tools return technical lists that are hard to interpret for people running a business. Check Accessibile is designed to turn those results into clear priorities and concrete actions. It is the same approach we take with the websites and e-commerce projects we build, designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA from the start.
Project status and early access
Check Accessibile is under development and not yet publicly available. If you would like to try it early, see a demo or be notified at launch, contact PragaWeb through our contact page. In the meantime, we can already review your site with a technical and manual audit.
